About Me

Sean Wissing

Hello!

I'm Sean Wissing, an American living in Bologna, Italy, and working on AI and international relations.

Since 2021, I have completed a couple of advanced degrees in Artificial Intelligence (University of Bologna) and International Affairs (Johns Hopkins SAIS). Those programs allowed me to to live in Bologna and supported my research into the international and public sector economics of AI. Since 2024 I have helped run a U.S.-China Track-II Dialogue on AI policy at INHR .

I feel great pride in the work we have done on that project, and I'm grateful to have met so many brilliant people along the path. This is a personal site, though, and nothing published here should be construed as reflective of the views of anybody but myself. Anything written or expressed on my personal website is entirely the result of work undertaken on my own time. I do write about AI issues for work INHR too, and you can find some of that here .

When I'm Not Working

I enjoy thinking and writing about the social and economic consequences of AI, some of which gets edited, and some of that gets posted here. When I am not writing or editing (most of the time), I like to travel, eat food, and watch movies. Someday I may post short essays about that stuff on here too.
